Choose your perfect size - Shoe size guide

Buying shoes online can be daunting because you can't try them on in person, worrying about getting the wrong size and the hassle of exchanges. Don't worry, let ROYAL ELASTICS teach you how to choose the right pair of shoes.

What shoe size should I wear?

One minute it's 23 cm, the next it's US size 7—the sheer number of shoe sizes from different countries can be overwhelming. But it's actually quite simple. Just find your usual athletic shoes and their size label, then compare it to the shoe size chart below. For example, ROYAL ELASTICS sizes are US sizes. First, find your size in the table...

If you wear a European size (EU Size) men's 42, that corresponds to a US size 9, so you must choose a RE US 9 shoe.

Special note:

• What if you wear a half size, and your preferred shoes don't have that half size or are sold out? Our suggestion is to simply choose a size up and then add a half-size insole to make up the space. For example, if you wear a US size 9.5, please select a size 10 and specify "include half-size insole" in your order. We will then include a free insole with your order.

• Our largest women's shoe size is 9. If you wear a women's shoe size 10, please choose a men's shoe size 9 directly, because a men's shoe size 9 is the same size as a women's shoe size 10.

Measure the feet

If you're really unsure what size your shoes are, the safest way is to measure them again.

First, put on socks and stand on a piece of white paper with its four corners fixed in place. Mark the very tip and the very end of your left foot, then measure the straight-line distance between these two marks and record the numbers. Repeat the same process to measure the straight-line distance between the two ends of your right foot and record the numbers as well.

The larger of the two numbers for the left and right feet is used to determine the size. For example, if your foot is 26.7 cm long, please round up to 27 cm (round up unconditionally in increments of 0.5 cm, meaning if your foot is 26.3 cm long, round up to 26.5 cm). According to the shoe size chart above, a foot that is 27 cm long would wear a US size 9.

Finding the right shoes

When buying shoes, besides size, fit is also a key consideration. Even with the same size, different lasts, styles, and upper materials can significantly affect the fit and comfort. For example, if you normally wear a US size 9 and want to buy our Icon Washed canvas shoes, we would recommend going for a size 8.5, because canvas shoes are relatively loose, and going half a size smaller will result in a better fit.

• If you prefer a wider shoe style, we recommend choosing the Icon or Bishop series.
• If you prefer narrow-fitting shoes, we recommend purchasing shoes from the Icon 2.0 or Icon 2.0X series.
