— BRAND NEW AGE —

In the post-pandemic era of a smart world, digital technology has entered new realms, accelerating the virtualization of fashion brands' products and business development, and further enhancing the application of technology in the fashion industry. Therefore, the brand's new design inspiration focuses on the interactive evolution between technology and humanity. Through the interaction between people, nature, and the universe, it explores the process of moving from anxiety and passive resistance to actively facing fear and elevating the spiritual level. This has led to the planning of two major product themes, "Gentle Life" and "Future Galactic," and the launch of three new generation footwear models: HONOR, DREAMER, and MAKER.

GENTLE LIFE
Yearning for another side of life, experiencing firsthand the spiritual cleansing that nature brings. Not following the crowd, not losing oneself in chaos, but finding a more comfortable and peaceful attitude and pace of life. "Less is more" will be a key belief for the brand's future, emphasizing details and enhancing brand recognition, allowing more people to experience its true essence.

Starting with the brand's classic shoe silhouette, we've created an evolved version of the "ICON ARCHER" and a Hyperim® sole. Come and take a look!

ICON ARCHER, the classic evolution flagship model of super running shoes
The newly evolved flagship shoe from ROYAL ELASTICS, the ICON ARCHER, is based on the popular ICON model. The narrowed elastic band system and double-layered heel panel highlight the streamlined design of the shoe body and incorporate a futuristic style. The piping lines and quilted details pay homage to sports car design. It is equipped with the new Hyperim® wheel concept sole, which flows smoothly from the sole to the upper, reflecting the speed and lightness of a supercar.
The newly launched ICON ARCHER series presents two distinct styles: TREND and FASHION, offering a total of seven colorways. The trendy sporty style features classic supercar colorways in red and white, yellow and white, blue and orange, and black and green, complemented by contrasting piping, reflective material accents, and wave-patterned details on the sole rim. The fashionable casual style offers pink, gray, and black and gray colorways, with understated similar tones and patchwork leather details bringing a seasonal feel.

Hyperim® supersole: Classic upgrade for a brand new silhouette
The ROYAL ELASTICS design team spent two years developing the new Hyperim® concept sole, combining trends and ergonomics to create a fresh silhouette for the brand's classic rim shape. Evolving craftsmanship and functionality, infused with futuristic design thinking, redefine the classic CUPSOLE outsole, with a lightweight feel and striking colors that fully embody the brand's fearless and carefree attitude.

Hyperim® High-Elasticity Lightweight Outsole: Four Key Features
The all-new Hyperim® high-elasticity lightweight outsole replaces the previous HEVA midsole material with PHYLON, making its lightweight and soft characteristics even stronger. The design of the midsole extending to the outsole utilizes its abrasion-resistant properties and expands the range of elasticity, providing the foot with excellent rebound support. A breathable mesh lining paired with a thickened PU insole provides better shock absorption, pressure relief, and stability, resulting in an evolved and upgraded foot feel. The rubber outsole features three different deformable wave patterns and a five-layer distribution, greatly enhancing the outsole's abrasion resistance and traction.
The reinterpreted classic rim design uses INJECTION PHYLON (IP) technology to refine the sculpted lines and three-dimensionality, incorporating new deformed waves that extend from the sole to the outer side, showcasing more texture and color details and revealing a distinctive personal character.

Launch dates: Men's style February 2020, Women's style March 2020.

In recent years, the widespread use of social media platforms has provided numerous opportunities for creators to publish their work. Illustration, as a form of expression where "a picture is worth a thousand words" and full of unique personal style, has become a popular art form, leading many illustrators to become online celebrities. Wang Zimian is one of the best examples. Like music or other arts, people often believe that talent determines everything in illustration. They think that if the muse is on your side, you're destined to become a successful artist. However, what people don't realize is that in the art world, like many workplaces, character, experience, and talent are equally important.
The illustrator with the adorable stage name "Prince Noodles" is a pretty young woman. On the day of the interview, she had just finished a children's art class, but even though more than half an hour had passed since the end of class, the children were still reluctant to leave, surrounding their teacher and constantly asking for her opinion on their artwork. While being interviewed, Prince Noodles readily offered suggestions. This art classroom, filled with the sounds of children talking and laughing, echoed the artwork hanging around the classroom, both adorned with sweet and vibrant colors.

Like many who pursue a career in art, Wang Zimian noticed her sensitivity to images and colors from a young age and loved drawing. "My passion has never changed," she laughs. "I might not be able to read novels, but I love storybooks and picture books." Many illustrators have similar experiences from childhood, later developing their own unique styles. So where does Wang Zimian's slightly fantastical and adorable style come from? And who inspired her? "Every creator starts by imitating, imitating painters or styles we like. But over time, through continuous practice, we absorb their strengths, integrate our own characteristics and ideas, and the imitated object disappears." We noticed that her paintings often feature animals, flowers, and girls. Does this have a special meaning? Wang Zimian says, actually no, she simply considers what to put on the blank canvas to make the space feel comfortable. Buying books and visiting exhibitions are her main ways of finding inspiration for her paintings. "Traveling is also an option, but sometimes I get tied up with teaching. Who doesn't love to travel?"

Artists often retain a childlike heart and possess passionate qualities. As Wang Zimian describes herself, she's "meddlesome, loves to eat, and loves to play." It's often this passion that makes her meddlesome, her curiosity that drives her to try everything, finds everything fun, and her reluctance to grow old, constantly seeking new knowledge—these are important qualities for creators. But for Wang Zimian, social experience is an even more crucial condition than talent, especially for aspiring to become a fully-fledged illustrator. "I used to work in the service industry, which greatly helped me as an illustrator later. It teaches you to be observant, avoid arrogance, speak more appropriately, and develop empathy. While we dream, we must also be practical." Because of this, in addition to continuing her creative work with her solid drawing foundation, Wang Zimian also strives to develop new teaching plans, which are highly praised by parents and students. She has also gained many opportunities for cross-industry collaborations, from Kuang Chuan Milk to Hermès, from UBS to Chung-Yoo Department Store, all of which have invited her to organize events, serve as an illustrator, or be a judge.
Does her keen sense of color also manifest in her own clothing choices? "I usually dress in solid colors, and only wear brighter or more elaborate outfits depending on the occasion. But I always love white sneakers the most, because they're the easiest to match." On that day, she wore Royal Elastics DUKE white leather sneakers with a minimalist color-blocking design and exquisite crocodile embossing, paired with a sophisticated white top, making her feel completely at ease with the children. Another pair that suited Teacher Wangzimian perfectly was the ICON SBI, also made of high-quality leather, which created color layers within a minimalist style. Its classic and elegant temperament, combined with her innocent and charming personality, exuded youthful energy.
Her talent for drawing also brought her additional benefits. For example, she was very efficient when shopping, finding things she liked very quickly. Also, her curiosity led her to learn tarot cards, expecting it to be difficult, but her visual sensitivity allowed her to quickly memorize the symbols on the cards. "Artists are often more creative than others, but less so in life."

Whether it's illustration or painting, any art form reflects the creator's inner world or observations. This aspect is innate, but Wang Zimian believes that diligence and creative work are indispensable. "I don't encourage students to start creating immediately after graduation. They should work first, meet people, connect with society, and gain some work experience before starting to create. This way, they will cherish the opportunity to create freely, won't give up easily, and won't be easily deceived." Persistence and continuous improvement are qualities everyone should possess. If we consider illustrators as a brand, understanding the pulse of the world and striving to launch the best works (products) is also the core spirit of Royal Elastics as a brand.

Taiwanese girls have always favored a dreamy and sweet style, as if a girl isn't quite a girl if she's not sweet. This has led to many Taiwanese girls dressing similarly, failing to highlight their individual characteristics. But Judy is different. You probably won't forget her the first time you see her: unique hairstyle, extravagant jewelry, and highly designed clothing. In a society like Taiwan where girls are "collectively sweet but lack individual characteristics," Judy is full of unique personal style. Although she inevitably attracts attention and even has to endure strange looks, thankfully she's a stylist, which makes everything a little more reasonable.

She describes herself as "crazy and unpredictable," and indeed, her style is hard to define, but it always has elements that most people would consider exaggerated. She also hosts shows, serves as a judge, styles and photographs artists, and walks the runway. If she didn't have a touch of eccentricity in her personality, if she always followed the rules and acted like a good girl, she wouldn't be the Judy we know today. However, she adds "kindness" to her personal traits. This makes one wonder, what is the relationship between fashion and kindness? "A stylist's job is to make people better and more beautiful." Well, if we broaden the definition of kindness, then stylists can indeed be categorized as charitable workers.

Judy didn't initially pursue a career in fashion or styling, but her love of drawing and beautiful things from a young age seemed to have guided her in a certain direction. She studied design in college, and art has always been her passion. This "artistic sense" naturally seeped into her own and others' styling. Her artistic flair stems from her bold experimentation. For example, she enjoys mixing contrasting elements like "neutral vs. glamorous" and "formal vs. casual." While it's difficult to define her style at a glance, this contrast often sparks unexpected brilliance, reflecting her unconventional approach. Contrasting designs often create an avant-garde and fashionable impression, such as contrasting color blocks or patchwork of different materials, which is a key factor in making Royal Elastics shoes so trendy and stylish.

Styling yourself might be easy, but styling celebrities requires considering many more aspects. "It probably takes five times as much effort! I have to understand the celebrity's usual style, size, etc., look at their photos on Instagram, and then find suitable clothing for them. Generally, I let them retain their original look, which is what I've always advocated: 'Everyone should have their own style.' But I also add some new elements to make them look better." This sounds easy, but it's not so simple in practice, because knowing how to add the finishing touch to a given look rather than overdoing it requires skill. There's no other way to cultivate skill than to absorb knowledge widely. "I like reading books, and I often go on Instagram to look for styles I like. I also go to fashion shows and travel." Like everything else, talent can only give you a small advantage at the beginning; whether you can reach the final destination depends on continuous learning and self-improvement.

Judy might be known for her eye-catching style, but she prioritizes comfort above all else, going beyond just looking good and being unique. Aside from attending events, she loves oversized, androgynous looks in her everyday life, paired with trendy sneakers, especially white sneakers. "I have very high standards for white sneakers," she says. "First, they have to be comfortable to wear, and they can't yellow. Yellowing makes them look like the paint is peeling off, so I buy new white sneakers every now and then." Judy particularly loves these white Royal Elastics TELA premium canvas shoes. The classic CVO silhouette, with its streamlined and rounded upper, straddles the line between high fashion and street style. The thick, comfortable rubber sole and laceless design make them hassle-free and incredibly versatile. Judy said that she always chooses her clothes first and then her shoes. White sneakers are almost a no-brainer and go with everything. For example, on the day of the interview, her upper body was covered with various red and black patterns, but a pair of white shoes balanced the overall look. When she changed into another pair of eye-catching and exquisitely patchwork shoes, the Midnight Rider, Judy wore a dark blue suit jacket with sweatpants. It was a contrasting aesthetic, but she used a unified color scheme to highlight the cleverly colored casual shoes on her feet.

Judy's life is fast-paced, filled with all sorts of beautiful and exciting things and activities. Attending fashion shows, getting styled up, giving interviews, and taking photos take up a lot of her time. She also hosts shows, travels abroad, shoots on location, and serves as a red carpet commentator at award ceremonies. This glamorous life is truly enviable, and indeed, many of Judy's fans ask her how to be like her. "I always advise them to take things one step at a time and not to have unrealistic fantasies." The world may not need another stylist, but like Judy, finding a style that suits each person is perhaps more important. This process requires learning, relying on seeing more, listening more, and referring to more. Sweet-looking girls aren't bad, they just might not suit you.

After a 23-year hiatus, ROYAL ELASTICS still exudes its fashionable charm.

ROYAL ELASTICS elastic band system sneakers are more than just ordinary sneakers. Since its inception in 1996, the brand has graced the runways of London Fashion Week, basking in the glow of fashion. Sneakers are not merely purely functional for sports; they also interpret culture through design, becoming an indispensable element on the fashion stage and more in line with modern lifestyles. At that time, before the chunky sneaker trend had even begun, ROYAL ELASTICS had already led the way.
Invited by renowned New York fashion designer Kevin Shahroozi, ROYAL ELASTICS once again graced the runway at Fashion Week in 2019. Kevin Shahroozi is known for his ability to blend cutting-edge technological elements into the details of everyday fashion, highlighting the unique personality of each customer. This concept resonated perfectly with ROYAL ELASTICS, and the brand's new stylish footwear, meticulously styled by Kevin Shahroozi, perfectly balanced practicality with ROYAL ELASTICS' avant-garde aesthetic, earning unanimous recognition and praise from the New York fashion scene.
Fashionable young stars Qiu Yitai and Jin Kaide demonstrate youthful energy and drive.

ROYAL ELASTICS rose to prominence among millennials, and many Taiwanese born in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s owned the brand's signature laceless sneakers, a classic style that consumers repeatedly purchase. Alongside the launch of its New York Fashion Week collection, rising stars Chiu Yi-tai and Chin Kai-te were invited to serve as youth ambassadors for the event. They interpreted the brand through the lens of different generations, and Chiu Yi-tai and Chin Kai-te's sharing of their academic and professional experiences echoed the brand's core spirit.
At the end of the event, Chiu Yi-tai made a grand finale appearance, dressed in a stylish and trendy formal suit, paired with the sweet and pretty Jin Kai-de. Their appearance immediately gave the media a sense of the unique personality of the new generation. During the interview, they talked about how busy they are with film promotion and drama filming. They both felt very happy and honored to be invited to the ROYAL ELASTICS press conference. Chiu Yi-tai is studying fashion design at Caltech. He analyzed that ROYAL ELASTICS' ADELAIDE series is a versatile shoe that combines personality and functionality. Not only are the colors vibrant, but the design is also very comfortable, achieving a harmonious beauty of visual enjoyment and wearing comfort. It is a wonderful experience unlike anything before.
Singing praises to the beautiful sunrise and golden impression

The ADELAIDE series, the brand's new flagship collection, draws inspiration from its birthplace, Adelaide, Australia. This season, it utilizes the inspiration of Impressionist oil paints, depicting the painter's romance and imagination of light, echoing the translucent materials and layered color brushstrokes on the shoes. It presents a philosophy of freedom and living in the moment, radiating a vibrant golden impression. Taking inspiration from the design spirit of retro tennis shoes, the ADELAIDE series releases a comfortable rhythm and an elegant atmosphere, making it a must-buy for consumers who love the Smart Casual style. Chiu Yi-tai's detailed and insightful explanation led the host to praise her for inheriting her parents' fashionista genes. Jin Kai-de, standing nearby, grabbed the microphone to speak, stating that the shoes' comfortable and convenient performance, combined with their refined and eye-catching texture, makes them an excellent choice for women. Wearing ROYAL ELASTICS adds elegance while allowing for effortless styling, suitable for both formal and casual occasions.

If I were to categorize myself as a professional, I would be a professional in communication.

We admire certain Japanese fashion designers whose designs possess a "constant yet adaptable" quality. While each season may offer slight variations, the core spirit remains instantly recognizable—perhaps we can define this as the brand's "signature feature" or classic style. This phenomenon is particularly evident in menswear design, as menswear, unlike womenswear, doesn't offer the same diverse and ever-changing styles. Many menswear designs originate from specific contexts, such as the military, the West, or certain social movements, like the anti-war movement (hippie movement). In Taiwan, there's also a fashion designer deeply fascinated by workwear and military style, constantly seeking inspiration from history. SYNDRO has thus established its position in the Taiwanese menswear scene. If you appreciate this kind of masculine, rugged clothing and value meticulous craftsmanship, then SYNDRO is definitely a brand for you.
SYNDRO founder Wang Hsin-Wei, much like the brand's spokesperson, is always seen in indigo-dyed work clothes or camouflage patterns—simple yet stylish. His attire is balanced by his deliberately long hair and beard, giving him a distinctly Japanese trendsetter vibe. Without prior knowledge, it's hard to guess that he originally studied mechanical engineering but plunged headlong into fashion design. While seemingly a leap, he says they are essentially the same: "Mechanical engineering and fashion design are both sources of inspiration, just with different products."

Drawing inspiration from history is relevant to modern life.
Designers draw inspiration from diverse sources. Some find inspiration in different cultures encountered during travel, while others glean it from art. Wang Xinwei, however, pays homage to history and old objects. His past styles, including military, hippie, Western (cowboy) and workwear, have become core characteristics of SYNDRO. "I always find inspiration in old things, incorporating the needs of modern life to conform to contemporary aesthetics." Therefore, we see SYNDRO coats and military jackets that can be traced back to the characteristics of the British Navy or US Air Force of a certain era. Even the workmanship and fabrics are deliberately imitated from that era, yet more refined and modern, remaining classic even after half a century. Because of his background in mechanical design, Wang Xinwei is more particular and interested in details such as stitching, which is reflected in the details of SYNDRO. "There are three things I cannot compromise on: cut, material, and workmanship . Especially the cut, which is the skeleton and soul of the garment. But I also pay attention to the fit and sleekness of the clothing. Being able to move freely while wearing it is my highest guiding principle in designing. I will not sacrifice ease of movement and comfort for the sake of aesthetics. Durability is also important , but durability must also look good. I pursue a rugged yet refined aesthetic. It may seem contradictory, but in fact, this balance can be achieved through slow workmanship and the use of old machines for sewing." These principles seem to be applicable to different items as well. For example, shoes. A good shoe design, combined with excellent materials and workmanship, can create a pair of classic shoes that are both good-looking and comfortable to wear. This is also what Royal Elastics insists on.

"Indigo dyeing is the most important element of SYNDRO this season. By using different shades of blue to match white URBANO , the overall look is consistent without being monotonous."
Only 1% of men know how to dress.
Wang Xinwei says his style is simple, but simplicity is not simple at all, because details are key. For him, clothing is a person's facade or showcase, and also how he wants the world to perceive him. "How you dress represents what kind of person you are, even including your expectations of things." Because he designs clothes, drawing inspiration from menswear history, and becoming the best spokesperson for his own clothing, dressing occupies his entire life. Studying his own style naturally leads him to observe how others dress. "When I look at someone, I first look at their overall appearance. If they're wearing clothes from a designer I admire, or if they have elements I like, it's easy to find common ground."

"I care a lot about whether a person is in a comfortable state and gets along well with their clothes, letting the clothes complement them." He has an interesting classification of Taiwanese men's clothing: 90% of men play it safe, they don't care at all what they wear, or they just follow the crowd and it's not worth discussing; there is a group of people who only care about the size of their clothes, as if they are buying 3C products, but they don't consider the relationship between the clothes and themselves and their suitability; the other extreme is that they only care about the different styles they display, they pay too much attention to the diversity of their outfits and ignore the quality.

"The same combination of dark and light blue echoes the blue, gray, and white color scheme of the KING shoe. The red lines on the shoe become a prominent detail, creating visual unity while adding variation in detail."
A gathering of many skilled professionals
Regardless of the item, SYNDRO puts more effort into details like stitching and buttons than others, making each garment worthy of extensive writing, like a microcosm of menswear history. In our view, this embodies the spirit of craftsmanship. Wang Hsin-wei says, "For me, a craftsman is someone who dedicates their life to perfecting what they do best. The seamstresses, pattern makers, and washing plants we collaborate with are all craftsmen. I'm just the one who generates ideas, clearly conveying them to them, and their expertise helps me bring those ideas to life. If I were to be considered a craftsman, I'd say a communicator." For example, this season's collection heavily utilizes indigo dyeing. They collaborated with a teacher who cultivates indigo plants (the plant used for indigo dyeing) in Yangmingshan. After numerous trials, they finally achieved the perfect result to meet Wang Hsin-wei's meticulous requirements for indigo dyeing.

Besides communicating with artisans, Wang Xinwei also communicates with consumers. Looking back, he finds design challenging yet fulfilling. As a unifier, he's responsible for communication, persuasion, and strengthening his own professional knowledge. However, the real challenge lies in operations. "The two hardest things we do are: getting other people's money into our own pockets and getting our ideas into other people's heads." Nevertheless, for the past 5-6 years, SYNDRO has proceeded methodically, step by step, without excessive marketing or advertising, relying on "letting the product speak for itself"—first gaining customer recognition, and then attracting more customers. Storytelling and solid craftsmanship have become the most powerful forms of promotion and marketing.
Wang Hsin-wei has also launched a women's wear line for SYNDRO, which is still in the experimental stage. The bigger the dream, the larger the company needs to support it, while also communicating and collaborating with more people. Currently, the brand is steadily progressing in the direction he envisions. We'll wait and see how SYNDRO's future style unfolds, but one thing is certain: the core spirit that Wang Hsin-wei values will never change—the craftsmanship of the clothing, the culture behind it, and the story it tells. "SYNDRO's clothes are best paired with simple, high-quality leather shoes or canvas shoes. I hope the brand can become a total solution for men, or that someone will say, 'I want to own a piece of SYNDRO clothing.'"
Royal Elastics admires the dedication and commitment to quality embodied by individuals like Wang Hsin-Wei, and hopes that "owning a pair of Royal Elastics" will become the solution for every quality-conscious consumer.

"The design of the clothing is inspired by traditional Indian men's clothing. The shorts also use different shades of the same color to create a layered effect, which cleverly echoes the blue on the ICON GENESIS shoes."

In 1996, two Australians in their early twenties, Tull Price and Rodney Adler, feeling the inconvenience of tying shoelaces, designed a brand new slip-on shoe by replacing them with elastic bands. They drew inspiration from the "fleur-de-lis," the royal coat of arms of the 12th-century French Capetian dynasty, to naturally express the pure style of luxury. As countless supermodels graced international fashion weeks and international celebrities favored the shoes, they wrote page after page of legendary stories.
The 2019 Spring/Summer design concept is "URBAN FUSION," which redefines sportswear with a stylish and individualistic classic silhouette. Beneath the meticulous European craftsmanship lies a fearless and rebellious free spirit, blending mature charm with youthful energy to freely showcase a unique fashion character.

【DUKE】
On pure white leather with endless possibilities for imagination, exquisite three-dimensional crocodile patterns are used, paired with a minimalist color-blocking design, like a low-key luxury French feast.
This season, we specially invited French-based photographer birds.flown to create two sets of romantic photo albums, "Imaginary Theater in My Mind" and "Fantastic Adventure of Curiosity," using his signature French elegance and the most popular Instagram poses, bringing consumers a brand-new royal perspective.

A fantastical theater in my mind, a romantic solo dance in #DUKE

"Ambiguous gazes sway joints, kicking back and forth between joy, anger, sorrow and happiness, composing a three-beat dance; raising a leg to draw a circle, like a spear inviting a shield to dance together, floating and falling between the notes."

SMOOTH
It first appeared at the 1996 London Fashion Week and won the "Most Radical Product" award. The French minimalist style showcases exquisite leather craftsmanship, and the pure white color implies a fearless and rebellious free spirit.

A fantastical adventure fueled by curiosity, a journey through the body while wearing #SMOOTH

"Following the sound of clattering footsteps, you fall into a cave, chasing after a mysterious face, running to escape terrifying danger, only to circle back to where you started. The plot of running away and escaping is no longer valid; in a daydream on an afternoon, you are alone with yourself."

Outfit, seemingly a simple word, can reveal each person's different aesthetics, philosophy and attitude towards life. It is not only an ordinary action of putting on clothes, but also a series of reflections and dialectics about facing oneself.

This time, ROYAL ELASTICS invited Paul, a former fashion editor and now a freelancer, to talk about his thoughts on dressing and see how Paul interprets different styles of ROYAL ELASTICS shoes, and how his clothing expands the boundaries of his self-imagination.
Accidentally entering the fashion industry
I guess I'm what they call a "slashie" (laughs). I'm currently a freelance writer, doing advertising and press release writing for fashion brands, sometimes supporting events or conducting interviews, and also collaborating with friends on e-commerce. I majored in English in university. People who study English usually go on to teach, translate, or work in import/export trade. I initially went into the publishing industry related to English learning, where I stayed for about 8-9 years. It was through a job opening for "international translator" that I stumbled into working on the international Chinese edition of a fashion magazine.

Could you please introduce the styling I put together for ROYAL ELASTICS this time ?
The main point is to make the upper body and shoes echo each other, and not to use too many colors. Keep it between two and three colors to make it look more cohesive.

"I think white shoes (DUKE) are versatile. You can match them however you like, so your top, pants, and shoes can actually be three unrelated colors."

The meaning of dressing: personal image and creative expression & mood expression
The first thing people notice about you, besides your appearance, is your clothing; clothing represents your first impression. It's not about wearing head-to-toe designer brands or being overly flamboyant, but rather about presenting a neat, clean, and well-groomed image, just like wanting to make a good impression on the interviewer and land a job. Furthermore, clothing can showcase personal style and creativity. Even something as seemingly mundane as a suit and tie can be transformed into something unique through the color and pattern combinations of the shirt and tie.

Clothing color and mood are interconnected. When feeling down, people tend to wear darker colors, such as black for funerals to express condolences. Conversely, weddings often use red or white to symbolize joy and purity. Generally, bright colors also tend to uplift the mood. I've also noticed that when I'm feeling down, I unconsciously choose darker colors.
Fashion Style and Development
I used to try brighter, more floral patterns, but now I'm more into elegance, gentlemanly style, and being Dandy. I think it's because of GQ's influence. Although I still wear floral patterns, I balance them with more understated colors so that people can't see me from 500 meters away. The key is balance, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's just an experiment and a personal style. I can only say that I'm getting older and won't be so flamboyant anymore.
Everyone has different styles and preferences, so you have to find your own favorite style and colors. You have to try different things to see what suits you and what doesn't. Some people just wear basics, which are safe choices and suit most people, but they may not highlight your personal characteristics. Observe more, understand yourself more, try on more clothes, and find what suits you. It's okay to make mistakes; just know what doesn't suit you.

Taiwanese Men's Fashion Observations and Challenges
Fashion is a fun thing, but because it still requires time to think, it's a hassle for most people! Taiwanese people generally don't like to think much and prefer to choose simple, basic styles, thinking that it won't matter what they wear. That's not wrong, but dressing well can change a person's demeanor and mindset, and it can also change how others perceive us. We often admire the French or Japanese for their stylish dressing, but we don't want to try to change ourselves.
Our education system teaches students to value inner qualities, assuming that valuing inner qualities means not needing to value outer appearance. But these are two different things. Who says that valuing appearance necessarily means neglecting inner qualities? Why can't someone be both well-dressed and talented? Are people who dress simply necessarily more honest? These are all nonsense. Another phenomenon in Taiwan is the love of wearing sportswear. Sportswear is comfortable, that's true, but wearing it everywhere makes one appear unremarkable and out of place.

"MANHOOD is off-white and black, so I chose beige pants and black and white stripes for the top, which is an element taken from the shoes."

The principle of mixing and matching
If you want to mix and match different patterns, you must use different patterns. For example, if the upper body has a large floral pattern, then the lower body has a small floral pattern. The key is to make them very distinct. The same applies to matching shirts and ties. The sense of layering in the matching is the most important thing.

Finding your style is about knowing yourself.
Your skin tone will determine which clothes suit you best; for example, those with darker skin should avoid tan or earthy tones. Body shape and size are closely related, especially for suits. Suits have many details, and being too big or too small won't work. Many people only know their body shape after trying on suits. Understanding yourself is the most important thing.

In addition, it's important to use references. I enjoy looking at Japanese street style magazines, which mostly feature ordinary people, not as perfect as professional models. They come in all shapes, sizes, professions, and ages, and they dress in their everyday way, which provides me with inspiration that's closer to my own style.
Since dressing is something we do every day, let's do it well! You'll find enjoyment in it. It's also an opportunity to train your aesthetic sense, particularly regarding the balance between color combinations. The basic rules are: first, contrast, such as black and white, dark and light colors; and second, tones on tones within the same color family, which both echo the colors and create a sense of depth.

"If you wear camouflage pants and camouflage shoes, they will look like a soldier. So it's best to have a color separation in the middle (of the pants) to keep the camouflage on the upper body and shoes, as a kind of matching. I think that's the best way."
RIDER's SMART CASUAL style: semi-formal casual wear
Lightweight casual shoes + blazer + T-shirt + Bermuda shorts
Regarding popularity
Whether or not to follow trends is a matter of personal opinion. You can try it, and if it doesn't work, then forget it. Trends aren't limited to just one element; you don't need to incorporate every trendy element into your outfit. Find what suits you best—the trendy colors, cuts, styles, or overall look. Trends only have meaning if they fit your personal style , because nobody is perfect. Even models have styles that don't suit them. You can change models for fashion spreads, but you are you. You can't instantly become one model and then another. So don't blindly chase trends, because while you can change models for fashion spreads, you only have yourself.

Royal Elastics underwent a significant transformation in its Fall/Winter 2019 collection, shifting its focus to uniquely styled and fashionable footwear. On March 9, 2019, they were honored to participate in the 6th Annual Suit Walk (Taipei International Gentlemen's Day). The event was further enhanced by the presence of world-renowned supermodel David Gandy and former GQ Creative Director Jim Moore. Let's take a look at how gentlemen interpreted the fashionable look of Royal Elastics shoes through their own unique styling insights!

Nearly a thousand people participated in this fashionable event, turning the streets of Taipei into a fashion show with thousands of attendees! I was among them!

All you need is a pair of Sneakers
Shih Huang-chieh, one of the founders of Kao Wu Group and Suit Walk, often tells his clients, "There's always a gentleman's suit that suits you." The founder of the RE brand also said something similar: "High-quality, stylish, and unrestricted genuine leather fashion sneakers can accompany you through countless carefree years." Royal Elastics shoes are suitable for all heights, weights, genders, and occasions; everyone can look presentable in them.

Gentleman's attire that defies imagination
Despite the damp and chilly weather that day, stylish gentlemen still flocked to the streets, donning their most distinctive gentlemanly attire to showcase their personal style.

Expressing opinions on understated luxury footwear
Young designer Rennie, known for his cutting-edge fashion sense, opted for a departure from the traditional slim-fit suit trousers of men's attire, instead choosing wide-leg trousers that have been trending in recent years. He paired this with a luxurious wool coat and metallic accessories, and completed the look with a pair of Royal Elastics' newly released 2019 Duke shoes. The shoes feature crocodile-patterned embossing, creating an overall impression of a wild and untamed ensemble.

Interpreting the limits of sports fashion
Paul, a long-time collaborator with Royal Elastics, was undoubtedly the most eye-catching person at the event! Amidst a sea of dark-colored attire, his striking apple green suit jacket, paired with a traditional white shirt, a playful red, blue, and green plaid tie, light beige casual trousers, and matching Midnight Rider sneakers from the RE design series, perfectly embodied a style that seamlessly blends fashion and sport.
Classic background, avant-garde by nature
REZ, a fashion professional who has participated in Suit Walk for many years, had been searching for the perfect footwear for the event. This year, he found the perfect choice for his outfit at RE. Sporting a simple, slicked-back hairstyle, a classic grey-blue suit, and RE's new spring collection, the Bishop Bolt, with its geometric lines and color blocks on the upper, made the entire look more stylish and modern. This pair of shoes not only perfectly complemented his suit but also showcased his fashion sense.

The biggest difference between this year's Suit Walk and the past few years is the increased participation of women! Women don't have to dress in a neutral style to wear men's attire! Wearing a matching suit in the same color and pattern, paired with white sneakers, gives a playful yet individualistic look.

Fashionable taste starts with Royal Elastics
From the understated yet modern Bishop Bolt and the uniquely stylish Midnight Rider, perfect for formal wear, to the luxurious yet wildly beautiful Duke, this event is sure to change everyone's perception of Royal Elastics' traditional streetwear. RE's 2019 shoe collection will definitely offer more diverse options for fashionable outfits .

Nestled in Dadaocheng, north of the North Gate, is a hidden gem called "Little Town Outside Coffee." The coffee shop doesn't just serve classic Italian coffee; what's truly special is the owner's passion for coffee-infused cocktails. Each cup is more than just coffee and alcohol; it embodies the owner's enthusiasm for his dreams.

You might wonder why this café is decorated like a bar. You might also wonder why, if it's a café, it doesn't just sell coffee and desserts. And you might be even more curious: the owner, a theater enthusiast who studied drama in college, didn't choose to go to the theater but instead started a café and bartending business. The owner smiled and told us that opening the café was simply a path that led him back to the theater, opening the door to entrepreneurship. "Small Town Outside" is a café by day, but at night it takes on another identity—a Japanese-style bar! The initial café hours were designed to effectively utilize the downtime outside of the bar's operating hours. When coffee products only contain coffee elements without any spirits, the connection is lacking. After all, it's the same shop, and the symbolism and connection between the products and services should be stronger. Therefore, they wanted to try bringing spirits into coffee, combining bartending techniques and presentation concepts with coffee, even the clothing and service style resemble a bar.

During the lively conversation, a menu was presented, its details exuding a retro charm. It read, "A lover of both alcohol and coffee." What exactly is a coffee cocktail? The owner explained that a coffee cocktail is a drink created by combining coffee with "spirits," primarily showcasing the balance resulting from this combination. It's both coffee and alcohol, but not just a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Each coffee cocktail is a creation of the owner himself, crafted through a unique mixing process, each flavor seemingly reflecting different landscapes, experiences, moods, and stories. Coffee and alcohol are like two actors on a theatrical stage, and we are the audience, listening to their dialogue.

Seeing the owner dressed in a white shirt and barista's apron—a rare sight in Taiwanese coffee shops—inspired by Japanese bars, this attire reflects not only his composed and serious work ethic but also his high standards for himself, striving for the perfect balance in every cup of coffee. The owner hopes that every customer who comes to the shop will not only enjoy the five senses (hearing, smell, taste, sight, and touch) but also experience the beautiful life he aspires to in this space.

Q1: Did you know the Royal brand before?
A: Yes, I know. They used to feel like streetwear shoes, like what B-Boys would wear. But the new season's shoes look more sophisticated and give off a different style.
Q2: Which of your beverages does our brand remind you of?
A: I think it's like "U2 Ireland." Irish coffee is a classic coffee cocktail, and its simple black and white appearance is captivating. The unique hot and cold taste brings a wonderful surprise. Adding a touch of Irish whiskey gives it a restrained, calm, and mature feel. Irish coffee, interpreted by different baristas, will present different flavors, just like the shoes I'm wearing. The same shoes will have different styles on different people. The leather material of the shoes also reminds me of "classic" and "mature," and the design also follows a simple and understated approach, giving it a restrained quality.
Q3: Among many shoe models, why did you choose Prince Albert?
A: Because I usually wear high-top military boots for work, I wanted to find a pair of white shoes for my personal life. White can make me feel relaxed when I take off my work and identity. In addition, the embossed patchwork on the Prince Albert shoe has a very high-quality feel, and it gives me more options in terms of outfits.
Q4: How do these shoes remind you of your favorite drink?
A: The shop recently launched a new coffee cocktail inspired by the movie "Baby Driver." Just like the male protagonist in the film, it's gentle on the outside but strong on the inside. Just like ROYAL shoes, the genuine leather is soft to the touch but very durable.

Royal Elastics A/W New Product Launch

Li Guoyi interprets the extreme of sports fashion.

Lee Kuo-yi, who just finished filming his new drama at the beginning of last month, has shown outstanding and popular all-around performances in television, film, and advertising this year, showcasing his increasingly refined acting skills. He has been praised by reporters as a new generation "national idol." Today, Lee Kuo-yi and rising star Jin Kai-de were invited by the well-known fashion footwear brand ROYAL ELASTICS to be the main guests at their new product launch press conference.
At the event, Li Guoyi sported a splatter-painted suit paired with the brand's upcoming silver-lacquered sneakers with ink-speckled floral embellishments, exuding a dashing presence reminiscent of the German national team. The media present showered him with praise, and the host remarked that the combination of a suit and sneakers was surprisingly harmonious. During the interview, Li Guoyi unexpectedly revealed that he is a fan of ROYAL ELASTICS , and in his youth, he would happily eat instant noodles with every meal in pursuit of the same shoes worn by celebrities like Takuya Kimura, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, and Faye Wong.
Lee Kuo-yi, known in the entertainment industry for his fashion philosophy, revealed at a press conference that he owns over two hundred pairs of shoes. He explained that he loves browsing select shops within international fashion department stores, and every time he travels abroad, he becomes hopelessly addicted, even wanting to buy every color of a stylish piece. When he saw the captivating designs of this year's brand's entire autumn/winter collection, his eyes lit up, and he was deeply attracted! The design, craftsmanship, and diversity of each pair of shoes made it feel like a top-tier boutique for trendy footwear. Through this analysis of his taste in footwear, Lee Kuo-yi showcased his versatile fashion philosophy beyond acting. He highlighted his personal style by mixing and matching sportswear with formal wear, endorsing the brand's strong brand DNA and encouraging consumers to boldly try diverse fashion styles, expressing their own unique fashion sense.
At the end of the event, Ms. Ma Chuqing, General Manager of the brand's Taiwan region, presented a customized commemorative shoe with the initials of Lee Kuo-yi's English name and the calligraphy of the character "Yi" as a surprise gift to thank Lee Kuo-yi for attending the launch event today. Upon receiving the exclusive shoes tailored for him, the joy on Lee Kuo-yi's face was as excited as a big boy receiving a handful of candy!

Kincaid expresses his views on youth footwear

Jin Kaide, a campus goddess heavily promoted by Eelin Models, has collaborated with numerous renowned footwear brands on catalog shoots. She is intimately familiar with the brands' history and stated at events that the younger generation is tired of traditional sportswear brands because, due to price considerations, there are too few stylish and comfortable options. Having been sponsored by ROYAL ELASTICS for many years, Jin Kaide expressed her gratitude at events, saying she is very grateful to ROYAL ELASTICS for providing her with a diverse range of shoes, ensuring she always has a pair for her performances. She often shares the brand's upcoming new releases with her classmates. ROYAL ELASTICS's high-end style often leads her classmates to mistakenly believe she's wearing expensive shoes costing tens of thousands of dollars. However, after hearing the price of ROYAL ELASTICS, her classmates quickly become fans of the brand.

Stylish, high-quality, meticulously detailed, and exceptionally comfortable – ROYAL ELASTICS establishes a new core for the brand.
ROYAL ELASTICS, a top ten international casual shoe brand, rose to prominence at the dawn of the new millennial generation. Its innovative elastic band design, combined with avant-garde and versatile footwear, propelled ROYAL ELASTICS from Australia to Europe, America, and Asia in just two years, leveraging the power of the internet. Countless international celebrities have been seen wearing ROYAL ELASTICS' exquisite footwear. However, the brand's unprecedented success in the higher-priced segment made its shoes inaccessible to many consumers with a mid-to-low-price shopping preference. To cater to a broader consumer base, ROYAL ELASTICS began designing entry-level shoes, marking the start of a six-year-long period of classic style extensions.
ROYAL ELASTICS, the Lion King awakens, bringing back its fashionable and energetic spirit .
In 2015, the original design team of ROYAL ELASTICS returned, and after countless discussions and market research, they analyzed the market blueprint for the brand's next golden age. Recognizing that for consumers in the M-shaped economic structure, luxury brands are already out of reach, and low-priced items can no longer satisfy the tasteful and sophisticated demands of the fashion-conscious generation, the brand positioned itself in the mid-to-high price range, creating a full range of footwear that prioritizes style and affordability. ROYAL ELASTICS has established design studios in Hong Kong, the UK, and the US, concentrating its keen fashion sense. The upcoming "King of Glory" genuine leather collection this year clearly demonstrates the brand's long-accumulated potential, poised for a spectacular launch.
Showcasing the full vitality of a challenging generation - Spring/Summer Collection:
The MANHOOD series embodies the rebellious spirit of the post-millennial generation.
If the elastic band system was the key to ROYAL ELASTICS' rise in the footwear industry, then the MANHOOD series is ROYAL ELASTICS' most popular street classic. The newly launched MANHOOD series in 2018 strongly pays tribute to denim fashion and street style, releasing a strong and eye-catching trendy attitude through the visual combination of red, blue and white color blocks on the upper and gum sole.
Catwalk exudes a sweet, spring-like charm.
Spring is women's favorite season, representing romance and gentleness. Pastel colors are an indispensable element of spring. The upcoming Catwalk series evolves the classic shoe silhouette with slender lines, giving it a chic new look with a youthful sporty style. It perfectly complements this year's revived relaxed fit. The Catwalk series features exclusive artwork by a Japanese illustrator, and the brand utilizes a textured weave to create a three-dimensional animal fur texture, further enhancing the shoe's delicate and girlish charm.
The Urbanite collection redefines footwear in its first phase.
Showcasing a fashionable attitude is ROYAL ELASTICS' cross-year brand blueprint starting from Spring/Summer 2018. The 2018SS first introduced the Urbanite collection, which, through stable colors that define the fashion, corresponds to the changing times of smart casual style, which is half formal and half sporty. The Urbanite collection aims to help white-collar men and women easily master the combination of fashionable formal wear and sporty casual wear. Through the inherent quality of imported Italian high-grade leather, the brand's sporty DNA is perfectly integrated through minimalist lines, allowing consumers to experience the "fashionable gentleman" and "feminine chic" that are both modern and energetic in the city.
